About

The Barony of the Flame welcomes you to Christmas Tourney! The event will be held at the Pritchard Community Center on Saturday December 2, 2023

Christmas Tourney is an annual charity themed event held in December by the Barony of the Flame. This year will be the 51st Christmas Tourney.

Gift wrapped in paper with sprig of cherries on top.

Tourney Information

Armored

This year’s Christmas Tourney will follow the traditional format.

Entry into the tournament can be “bought” with a donation to Shively Area Ministries. They are requesting ethnic dolls, basketballs, soccer balls, and footballs, though any toy or family centered item will be appreciated. A cash donation of any amount is also an acceptable entry.

There will be pools where the combatants will organize themselves so that everyone fights every other opponent in the pool, the top scoring competitors will advance to the next round. The number of competitors advancing from each pool and the number of rounds will be determined by the number of entrants. The final sixteen combatants will then participate in a double elimination tournament to determine the victor.

We will make every reasonable effort to randomize the first set of pools; we recognize how irritating it can be to drive several hours and spend the morning fighting the folks you drove down with.

The prize for winning the tourney will be a round shield, constructed and painted by artisans of the Barony of the Flame.

The unbelt who goes the farthest in the tourney will be awarded a leather pouch made by Sir Jaime.

In addition, there will be a great ax tournament held in the Atlantian Speed style, where combatants line up and are paired by their place in line. The prize will be an incredible great ax made by Reinhold von Glier.

Rapier

This year, to enter the Rapier tournaments we are asking for a donation of pet food or pet toys from each entrant to cover their tournament entrance fee.  For one extra life we are asking that entrants bring another pet food item or pet toys to donate. All sizes welcome and more than one donation accepted wholeheartedly!
