The SCA combat system is a very realistic martial art. In the interest of safety, detailed rules on armor standards, weapon standards and fighter conduct have been established. For more information on the rules of combat in the MidRealm click here.
 
The Barony of the Flame holds weekly fighter practices at at Russell Doughtery Hall at UL's Belknap campus. Practices are 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday nights, as well as the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month at 2:30 pm. It is on the corner of Eastern Parkway and 3rd Street.  Those interested can learn a variety of weapon styles and construction techniques for both weapons and armor.
